I’m trying to be positive about it being winter and cold and dark. Each year I get so depressed when summer is over, no more sunny days out or trips to the seaside, how it’s dark when you leave the house and dark when you get back. Argh! But no, I’m trying to embrace it this year, so I made myself think of 10 things I actually LIKE about winter. And actually, it’s not that bad 🙂
- My Hot Water Bottle
It’s been hiding under my bed for most of this year, and this weekend the bed was absolutely freezing, so I got this out and remembered how much I love having my feet on this when I lie in bed! - Fleecy Socks
Still on the subject of feet, I love walking about the house in my fleecy socks, so snug and soft. - X Factor
I know the ratings are down, but I still love it. I’ve been watching every show since Pop Stars The Rivals! So at least with winter I know I have something to look forward to every weekend. - Snuggly Blankets
How nice is it to watch TV on the sofa under a snuggly warm blanket ahhh. - Pasta Bakes
Yes we can cook hot, warming meals again. With summer heat, I just don’t feel like eating hot meals, but with winter we’ve got pasta bakes, spag bol, shepherd’s pie – all those warming meals to have in the evenings, yum. - Fairy Lights
Winter means Christmas which means fairy lights galore at home and outside. I love it when the high streets have their Christmas lights switched on, the dark suddenly gets cheerful. - Fireworks
Fireworks in the sky for Bonfire Night, it always seems to last for a week and I love watching the big displays, so pretty. - Hot Cocoa
Having a hot cocoa to warm up my hands and drink before I go to bed. - Wooly Hats
I love wearing my wooly hat, it keeps me warm when I’m out and about and is great for hiding a bad hair day! - Heating on
When it’s cold, I love sitting by the radiator and reading my latest chick lit book!

I love the colder months so much. I just love the dark evenings and getting snuggled up in front of the TV. People always wish it was summer but i totally look forward to winter more #twinklytuesday

Snuggly socks are fab – and hot chocolate. I do love autumn even more for that, when it’s not too freezing but there’s a crisp in the air, but you’re right about huge wintery meals too. I’ve already made soup 🙂

I agree, as much as I love summer there is something about winter. Once it gets to Halloween it’s countdown to Xmas. I love hats, new winter boots and mulled wine!! X

I am such a fan of winter for all of these reasons! Winter always seems to be the start of new things for me too – probably because I’ve never grown out of September being a new school year! I also love crisp winter mornings and investing in a new winter coat 🙂 #twinklytuesday
