Maternity Style #5 | New Look

I’ve got another Maternity Style post for you! This is a dress I bought from New Look in the January sales for £5! It was £12.99 full price and from the Burnham branch which stocks maternity clothes. I’m only wearing it now that I’m in the third trimester, as any earlier and it just looked like I was fat! You really need a bump to carry off horizontal stripes. In fact it does make my bump look bigger, which I like.

Trainers – Primark – £7

Now you all know I have a thing for the nautical look, which is why I picked this dress off the rail without even trying it on. There’s just something about navy blue and white stripes that I like. The dress is really comfortable, stretchy and soft. I like the high neckline, as I’m not a fan of cleavage showing, and it has little poppers on the front if you wanted the neck open. I prefer them closed.

There’s ruching at the side, so there’s room for bump, and it also gives it a nice shape around the bump. I teamed it with black leggings – and these are new Mothercare maternity leggings that I had to buy, as my Red Herring ones from my first pregnancy have finally fallen apart! I ordered these online – a 2-pack for £15 – and picked up from a Mothercare store. They are over the bump ones, but I’m finding it uncomfortable having the leggings over my bump – so I just fold the waist over so it goes under my bump.

I also bought new shoes from Primark for £7. I call these my fake Converses 😉 They are sooooo comfy, I wish I had bought them earlier. The only thing is I’m not able to slip them on and off easily, they take me ages to put on! Can’t have everything, hey?!

As I got the dress from the New Look January sale, it is no longer available to buy, but I had a look at New Look’s current maternity range, and these would be my top 3 choices. The middle dress is the most similar to the one I’m wearing.

And that’s it. Hope I’ve given you some maternity fashion inspiration!

  1. I have a very similar tunic top from New look and it does seem to accentuate my bump even more! I love the middle one from your choices and I love that it is now dress weather as I am finding waistbands increasingly uncomfortable!

    • It’s nice having the bump look bigger isn’t it, so there’s no question that you’re pregnant! I agree, it’s great to wear just dresses and no layers in the sunshine, definitely more comfy! xx

  2. I really struggled to find nice things at a reasonable price when I was pregnant! It’s frustrating having to pay loads for something that you will only be wearing for a matter of months. These look lovely and a great price! xx

    • It’s true, maternity clothes are expensive especially as they’re only used for a few months! I always check out the sales, try to find a bargain! x

  4. You look stunning. Pregnancy suits you so much lovely. I love stripes and wear lots when I am pregnant. And I have to say that my favourite maternity outfit is a dress of some kind and leggings. It is just so comfortable and I think it looks stylish. And those fake converse are brilliant. I do love a Primarni bargain. Hugs Lucy xxxx
