Mothercare AW16 Press Show

The other day I was invited to the Mothercare AW16 Press Show, and as it was my first week of maternity leave, I was like, yeah! A sneak peak at the new Autumn Winter range – yes please.

It was held at a gallery just off Oxford St – a great location so I could go shopping afterwards 🙂 Inside I was greeted by the team and given an elderflower drink to walk around with. Myleene Klass was having a photo shoot done at the front with her new My K range. There were loads of women mingling and chatting, but me being me just wanted to have a look at the clothes. The whole place was decorated in black and white cartoon wallpaper as the theme was ‘Colour your way through’, and there were marker pens so we could colour in the walls. The was also a photo props area so you could take a selfie and if you put it on Instagram with #MothercareAW16, you got the photo printed out instantly.

There are three designer ranges – My K by Myleene Klass, Little Bird by Jools Oliver and for the first time Smile by Julian MacDonald (you know, that Welsh judge off Britain’s Next Top Model). I’ll show you my favourites from the range here:

My K by Myleene Klass

If you’re a fan off monochrome, you will love this range. I overheard Myleene say that she wanted to create a range that broke the gender barriers, a range suitable for boys and girls. My fave is the grey top with the black velvet bunny.

Little Bird by Jools Oliver

The idea behind the Little Bird range is nostalgia, hence the retro look, and she’s gone with a harvest fruit and vegetable theme for AW16. My faves are the train top which I think would be a hit with Tyler, and the Good Morning pjs – just so cheery. The retro Monday to Friday pants are pretty cool too.

Smile by Julian MacDonald

For girls he’s go gone with a kooky pink rabbit theme with so monochrome outfits in there too. My fave in the hooded pink romper with the bunny print. The shade of pink is not a sickly pastel pink, so it passes my pink test 😉

For boys he has gone with a blue and orange tiger theme, but there were 3 rather out there black and white outfits, including the little tuxedo one above.

Mothercare own-brand

In the basement the Mothercare range was set up. I loved the nursery area, although that may be because my baby is due in a month! They have these new pastel coloured cots for £69.

I also loved this print on a pillowcase, so assuming that’s a new duvet cover set to come out.

There was a new Peter Rabbit range for 0-12months, and it’s in my fave colour combo – white, black and yellow, Love this blanket, and the little scratch mittens.

They also had a new maternity range that now includes an active wear collection for the sporty mums-to-be out there, ie not me! And their own brand clothes and toys from the ELC collection. Nothing really stood out for me, it kind of looked like existing ranges.

So that’s it, I hope you enjoyed having a sneak peak at the new Mothercare AW16 range. They’ll be available to buy from August 2016. Do you like anything you see?

  3. Absolutely love the monochrome clothing. I must sneak in once it’s in store. I do buy a good bit in mothercare but it fits my oldest better than my youngest for some reason.
