Top Tips for a Female-Friendly Bedroom Design

With the kids all back at school, it gives us plenty more time to think about how we can make our homes a little cosier for the cooler months that lie ahead.

And whilst our bedrooms can all too often become places to store clothes and sleep, now is the perfect time to think about how everything from a fresh lick of paint, to a divan based bed can make our bedrooms a little more feminine.

We recently covered how important colour psychology is to determining the mood of a room. And there’s nothing like a good dose of bright yellow to bring in a burst of sunshine to even the dreariest of autumn days.

So why not think about how some autumnal colour tones of red, russet and gold can add a touch of rustic warmth to your bedroom.

There’s something that’s so much fun about DIY craft projects too, and whilst an autumnal wreath would look great on the front door, think about how everything from a perfectly placed pine cone to some dried flowers can supply some life to your bedroom.

And it’s not just earthy tones that can bring some warmth to your bedroom design, as we all know how our bedrooms should always have plenty of pillows and cushions to really ramp up the comfort factor.

Whilst our living rooms can benefit from abstract and geometric prints in the soft furnishings, in the bedroom it’s all about keeping things feminine. So be sure to include plenty of soft floral prints, and don’t shy away from some lovely tartan to add a touch of Highland charm to your sleeping space.

Although it’s easy to add plenty of warmth and colour to a bedroom, it’s not so easy to keep space maximised. Putting the winter blankets on the beds will clear up some space, but there’s always the issue of what to do with all of those lovely summer clothes.

Some people like to implement one of those modern wire clothes racks in their bedrooms. But a cosier alternative can be to see how a divan bed base from the likes of Bedstar can be a real life-saver when it comes to storing clothes until the return of the sunshine!

Above all, it’s all about keeping things soft and feminine, whilst making full use of space so that you are not constantly tripping up over your own clothes.

So that whether it’s getting a divan base, or embarking on your own autumn DIY craft project, there’s no reason why we can’t all enjoy a lovely feminine bedroom!

  1. I’ve been wanting to do something different with my bedroom. It’s where I write and watch TV when I’m alone. I spend a lot of time in my room and have been really wanting to make it feel like a place I want to be.

  2. I think having plants can be a good way of feeling Autumnal but I agree with having pops of yellow, they can make you instantly happier x
