PR | Last Friday, something very exciting happened to Slough… a brand new Dunelm store opened! This is great news for interiors fans as they sell all things home from kitchenware to bedding to rugs to sofas – basically anything you need for your home. I visited the store on the opening morning and I was really impressed. There were balloons adorning the entrance and once I walked in, I saw the place was buzzing – so many locals came, it did seem like this was the most exciting thing to happen to Slough in a long time!
It’s such a bright store with a huge ground floor, plus a cafe and even more homeware upstairs. There was so much to see and I took a million photos, but managed to narrow it down to twenty! I started upstairs, as I had a cup of tea first in the cafe before having a browse.
The first thing that caught my eye as I walked down the aisles was this clock. Not only is it colourful but it actually says 5 past, 10 past etc by each number – so useful for children learning how to read the time. It’s only a tenner too!
Bathroom accessories were upstairs – whatever colour theme you are going for, they have it. There were also seaside themed and art deco themed accessories – I quite liked the art deco look. They even had dressing gowns.
There was a whole section of ‘Take Home Today’ furniture with coffee tables and bedside cabinets, which is great so you don’t have to wait to get these bits delivered. I really liked this round wooden table and the colour of the wood.
I loved the lighting department, so many stylish lampshades to choose from.
This bicycle lamp was my favourite, so cute!
This is the cafe I mentioned earlier, it’s called Pausa and they serve hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches and hot food too.
Moving on to the downstairs, there is a huge kitchenware department that also sells kids lunchboxes and water bottles, as well as electrical equipment like kettles and toasters. I even saw a pink microwave!
They had some lovely dinnerware, again the Art Deco designs caught my eye – so glam!
Or you could go retro with these very 70s looking crockery – I love it!
Retro looking bins too – I really like the idea of a bright bin instead of boring metal.
I got a surprise at the back of the store where there was a Kiddicare corner. Do you remember Kiddicare? We had a huge store in Hayes a few years ago that closed down. It turns out that Dunelm have bought the brand and have added it to their children’s range – hurrah! So as well as kids bedding, they now sell toys, dummies, kids crockery, bumbo seats etc.
We found this rocking unicorn that Lily LOVED! She actually cried real tears when I took her off it. It’s only £30 so I may have to go back and get it for her. How happy does she look on it?!!
Also, I couldn’t not get a photo with this flamingo!
And how cute is this hedgehog cushion?!!
It’s safe to say that we LOVE the Kiddicare department 😀 I let Lily have a wander around the rest of the store, through bedding and cushions and flowers.
They have lots of artificial plants in pots and mugs which look ideal for Instagram flatlay photos – top tip for you Instagrammers out there 😉
And finally at the front of the store is their Christmas area, because you know that time of year is coming.
They had giftwrap, decorations, tableware, crackers, lights as well as artificial Christmas trees.
See why I had to take so many photos – this store sells EVERYTHING! If you’re local to Slough, you’ve got to come and have a look!
