18 Free/Low Cost things to do in February around Slough & Windsor, Berkshire | 2025

Who’s ready for February? January has felt like the longest month ever, but now we have the month of pink and half term to look forward to. And there are lots of free and low cost activities happening around Slough and Windsor.

1) Sat 1st Feb – Free Lunar New Year Celebrations in Maidenhead : 10am-12pm, Free Family Crafting at the Nicholsons shopping centre.
12.30pm Eagle Claw Kung Fu School present The Lion Dance on Maidenhead High Street

2) Sat 1st Feb – Free Lunar New Year Celebrations in Windsor : 10am-5pm Lunar New Year free craft activities at Craft Coop | 2.30pm Eagle Claw Kung Fu School present The Lion Dance – procession starting at Windsor Castle and heading down to Windsor Royal

3) Free Valentines Day Card Making – Sat 8th Feb 11am-4pm at Queensmere Observatory, Slough, near Primark, with Art Classes Group. Meet Harmony the Heart mascot too.

4) Free Library Activities :
Make a Sock Puppet Weds 19th Feb 3pm at Cox Green Library, age 4-10
Spanish Storytime The Hungry Caterpillar Weds 19th Feb 2.30pm at Windsor Library, age 6 and under
Spring Crafting at Maidenhead Library Thurs 20th Feb 2.30pm – 4pm, age 4-10

7) Thurs 14th – Sun 23rd Feb: Free Pirates Brick Trail at The Lexicon, Bracknell. Pick up a treasure map at Princess Square or outside The Avenue car park to uncover the clues. Participants will also have the chance to win one of two £50 gift cards from The Lexicon.

8) Mon 17th – Sat 22nd Feb: Free Pirate Themed Story-telling and Brick Zone at The Lexicon. Book a space. Younger adventurers, aged 8 and under, can enjoy swashbuckling 20-minute storytelling sessions. While creative explorers of all ages can book for a 50-minute session at the Pirate Brick Zone, run by The Brick People in Princess Square, to make their own pirate props.

9) 17th – 21st Feb – Free Kids Yoga and Dance sessions at Eden Shopping Centre. Its drop-in, no booking required. Location by Black Sheep Coffee – Yoga will take place from 11am – 1:30pm, and Dance from 1:30pm – 4pm.

10) IKEA Reading – various free activities: see all events
including biscuit decorating, make your own sleep masks and a BJÖRN bear hunt trail

11) Sunday 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd Feb 2.30pm – 5pm: Eton College Museums, Eton – Free to enter and free kids workshops at the Eton Natural History Museum

12) 10th – 23rd Feb: Snap a pic at the Rosy Love Heart in Broad Street Mall, plus check out their socials for a chance to win an Urban Fun date night.

13) Fri 14th Feb 11am-3pm: Take a pic on the Love Bench at Elmsleigh Shopping Centre, Staines and lookout for giveaways during the day.

14) 15th – 23rd Feb: Woodland Explorers Half Term trail at Burnham Beeches. Pick up a trail map from the Information Point – suggested donation is £3.

15) 15th Feb – 22nd Feb: Free/Low cost activities at Reading Museum
Free Activity Cart | Roman Paw Trail, £1: complete the trail and collect a prize | Tues 18th Feb A Roman Apothecary Herb Garden: £4, book online | Weds 19th Feb 10.30am & 1.30pm – FREE Medieval Rhymetime, Song and Live Music | Weds 19th Feb – Make & Take: Medieval Musical Instruments, half-hour sessions between10am-3pm, £2 | Thurs 20th Feb Bertie Badger and Friends | Fri 21st Feb Victorian Schoolroom Experience in the Gateway: Age 5+, 11am & 2pm £2pp
