Win a £100 HomeSense Gift Card Competition November 2015

If you’re unaware of who HomeSense are, where have you been?! 😉 They are the sister brand of TK Maxx, selling the most coolest, quirkiest homewares and gifts. They also sell practical stuff too. On the HomeSense launch day I got these drawer organisers and glass jars, with the aim to do a spot of decluttering.

HomeSense Declutter Drawer Bins and Pasta Glass Jars

I was fed up of packets of pasta cluttering up my kitchen cupboard, the packets never resealed properly and I was always finding rogue pastas at the back. And as for my kitchen drawers, I couldn’t even see what was in there!

BEFORE:

So I cleared a shelf on my bookshelf to make a display of pasta jars, and sorted out that kitchen drawer!

It’s so much easier to find things now, it makes me so happy!

  1. I have a lot of empty beauty subscription boxes which I find really useful for putting things in and they stack nicely in the cupboard.

  2. The first step to decluttering is to stop buying ‘stuff’!
I had a drawer of random ‘stuff’ which is now tidied into little boxes like the one you posted.
    Everything has a place :0)

  3. My best de-cluttering tip I have has to be if you’re not sure about keeping something (or haven’t used it in the past 6 months) then get rid! I’ve kept too many things for too long ‘just in case’

  4. If you have not used it in the last 12 months then bin it! but then you can guarantee you will need within the next 3 months 😉 x

  5. Create a “maybe” box. Sometimes when you’re going through a pile of stuff, you know exactly what to keep (the stuff you love and use) and what to trash or donate. But then there’s the stuff you don’t use, but think you might want it or need it someday. You can’t bear to get rid of that stuff! So create a “maybe” box, and put this stuff there. Then store the box somewhere hidden, out of the way. Put a note on your calendar six months from now to look in the box. Then pull it out, six months later, and see if it’s anything you really needed. Usually, you can just dump the whole box, because you never needed that stuff.

  6. If you’re running out of cupboard space, put some shelves up and it forces you to keep the shelves tidy as they’re on display 🙂

  7. I normally store all my wintery stuff away during the summer months and the same during the winter. I have lots of plastic storage boxes that stack up nicely on each other out of the way and help keep things from going a bit musty. Anything that I have not used in a year gets taken to the charity shop or binned.
