FREE family activities in Slough and nearby towns | Summer 2026

The summer holidays can be expensive, so I have rounded up some FREE activities in Slough and the surrounding towns.

Trunks across the Thames Elephant Sculpture Trail – find the elephants across Slough, Windsor, Eton and Maidenhead. Free to do, but if you’d like to track your trail, you can download the app for £1.99 (£1.45 goes to Thames Hospice). Live until 13th September.

Big Weekends at Eden, High Wycombe – every Saturday from 25th July to 30th August 11am – 4pm, with free activities and performances, plus you can book £2 workshops.

Reading Dino Trail across Reading and at The Oracle and Broad Street Mall, 25th July to 23rd August. 19 incredible brick-built dinosaurs to find.

Build your own Lego Dinosaur – FREE at Broad Street Mall, Reading – 25th July 11am – 2pm

★ Learn to crochet a poppy and poppy painting at Sostrene Grene, Windsor – 25 July 11am-1pm

Dragon Trail at The Lexicon, Bracknell 27th July to 6th Sept – find 5 animatronic dragons, the LEGO® dragon in Fenwick, and 10 giant dragon eggs in shop windows. Plus FREE face painting every Wednesday (opposite Boots 29th July – 26th Aug), FREE storytimes on Thursdays (must be booked), and Dragon Meet and Greets on Tuesdays.
