Win a £100 HomeSense Gift Card Competition November 2015

If you’re unaware of who HomeSense are, where have you been?! 😉 They are the sister brand of TK Maxx, selling the most coolest, quirkiest homewares and gifts. They also sell practical stuff too. On the HomeSense launch day I got these drawer organisers and glass jars, with the aim to do a spot of decluttering.

HomeSense Declutter Drawer Bins and Pasta Glass Jars

I was fed up of packets of pasta cluttering up my kitchen cupboard, the packets never resealed properly and I was always finding rogue pastas at the back. And as for my kitchen drawers, I couldn’t even see what was in there!

BEFORE:

So I cleared a shelf on my bookshelf to make a display of pasta jars, and sorted out that kitchen drawer!

It’s so much easier to find things now, it makes me so happy!

  1. i put all the toys that don’t get played with away in the loft & if my children dont ask about them for a couple of months they go to charity 🙂

  2. Ah, decluttering feels so good… “Have nothing in your home that you don’t know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful!”

  3. I always give things away, bin things, charity shops and I use ebay a lot to get rid of things too. I do these regularly to stop having too much junk in the house.

  4. In the summer we do car boot sales, in the winter we donate stuff to the charity shop. I have been a bit sentimental with the kids stuff so a lot of that is in the attic

  5. I find storage boxes invaluable. I have them labelled up & if the contents are not looked at or used within 3 months then I empty the box (shred, recycle, charity shop) as required.

  8. Sort out your wardrobe twice a year, spring and autumn, and if you haven’t worn something in the last six months, then you are very unlikely to wear it next year, so get rid of it.

  9. Make a list: create a list of places/areas in your home to declutter beginning with the easiest..works for me 😉

  10. Once a week I empty the junk drawer and file everything away & cash in all the loose change. I always attempt to get to the bottom of the ironing pile at least once a week.

  11. I am very ruthless when it comes to decluttering. I do it little and often. Once I make a decision it goes straight out. I never store anything in the loft. If it needs to go in the loft then you obviously don’t need it.

  12. I declutter often and feel much better for it. Anything you think ‘Ah this might come in handy at some stage’ – put in a large box in the garage, if not used in a year – throw it 🙂

  13. I hate clutter, in fact I think I have a problem, I am constantly going through wardrobes donating things to charity or asking the kids to get together things they don’t play with anymore.

  15. I LOVE decluttering and throwing old things away. I am quite ruthless and get stressed if the house is too cluttered. The new house is much larger and has so much more storage – perfect! Thanks for linking up – much appreciated 🙂 Jess xx

  16. Tubs, lots of tubs. I use small ones in the cupboards to keep organised. Bigger ones in my sons rooms to keep toys separate and organised. I use them in the bathroom for makeup and bath stuff too.
