It’s time for a siblings update – this covers from 15th February to 14th March, with Tyler being 7 years and 9 months, and Lily being 3 years and 8 months. We took many photos in February half term, but I am quite aware that I should also take photos of the ordinary moments at home. Note to self for next month’s post.
This past month it has been a love-hate relationship between these two. Mostly love, as they are like best friends who can’t do anything without either other. They giggle at their own private jokes that no one else gets, and they pretend to be trains and trace the trains on “Conductor Deluxe” on the TV with their fingers.
But the friendship can quickly escalate into them irritating each other. Lily can get annoyed with Tyler’s voice, going “Tyra stop talking!!” And yes she calls him Tyra these days 🤷🏻♀️
Lily is quite bossy, and with Tyler’s gentle nature it can get too much. He gets annoyed, running into another room going “I just want some peace and quiet” Then they get distracted by something and become best friends again. The circle of sibling life – I remember it well from my childhood.
This month Lily’s favourite snack has been black olives whereas Tyler’s has been Babybel cheeses. They have been enjoying Innocent smoothies at coffee shops and reading the funny ingredients on the back. This has not been good for my wallet though! Reading and doing activity magazines too.
Our half term with busy but relaxing too. We saw Sonic the Hedgehog at Vue in Staines, which they thought of as an adventure as we hadn’t been to that cinema before. We did the Lego Paw Patrol trail at The Lexicon, visiting twice in a week. On our second visit, we did the whole trail like a “how fast can you do it” challenge, which the kids LOVED doing. There was a sleepover at Granny’s house (dada’s mummy) and they brought her along to do a bit of the H&C line for our tube challenge. And we ended the week on a high – meeting Geoff Marshall and Vicki Pipe as we had tickets to their first kids’ talk. Tyler and Lily were soooo happy.
Half term was fab, and school has been fun too with World Book Day activities. We also visited a new indoor crazy golf called Putt Crazy (with gifted tickets), and had a trip to South London to catch up with friends, with a cheeky Nando’s beforehand.
Looking back on this month, these two siblings have done lots. The coming month though will be interesting with us not going out as much due to the coronavirus pandemic. Let’s see how we keep ourselves occupied!
For now, here are our sibling photos from Feb – March.
