This is a boat cruise along the River Thames with a difference… you get a live Horrible Histories show too! We were delighted to be invited back onboard the Terrible Thames tour. My kids LOVED it last year, and it’s just as good this year 👏
The 45 minute cruise starts from Tower Bridge, sailing all the way to Lambeth Bridge where it turns around and brings you back. You learn all about the London landmarks you see.
The show is led by the teacher and his student Billy – we had Harriet Munday. It’s her professional debut and she was absolutely brilliant!! The kids loved singing along to the sea shanties with her.
Children aged 4 and over will enjoy the show most, as they’ll recognise the songs and stories from school. For example Lily knew about the Great Fire of London and the “Fire Fire” song from her Reception class, so she was mega excited about that.
We have experienced both an inside and outside cruise now. If you prefer a cruise with no wind, choose a rainy day to guarantee an indoor show. In non-rainy weather it will be on the top deck. It is lovely in the open air. As with any open top boat cruise, it will get windy as the boat moves, so wrap up warm.
