The new year is here – hurrah! I must admit the first day of the year was a non-starter as I felt a bit of a zombie. Staying up ’til 1am is a late night for me! It was hard looking after the kids that day. So let’s say we started again on January 2nd, much fresher and ready for 2017. It was my husband’s last day of the holiday before going back to work the next day, so we wanted to make the most of it.
That’s when we decided to go for a walk in Black Park, the sun was out though it was still cold. We put on our winter coats and Tyler put on his yellow wellies for the first time since 2015. They just about still fit! I packed my new PacaPod bag with baby stuff, spare clothes, food and water bottles and we were ready to go!
It was so refreshing walking in the outdoors, away from the hustle and bustle of town. Walking through the trees, seeing little doggies running free, the sun reflecting in the water. You know when your eyes see so much prettiness in nature. It just feels good.
The ground was muddy, but it was fine. Tyler was happy to splash in muddy puddles for the first time ever. He’s usually quite a clean freak, so we had to tell him it was okay for his boots to get muddy!
I probably shouldn’t have worn my yellow coat, as I found myself jumping out of the way whenever Tyler splashed “Don’t get my coat!” hehe! Still, it made me happy feeling like a stylish mum, especially with my posh new buggy bag 😀
I usually have a tatty canvas bag hanging off the buggy by its strap, and then one of those canvas shopper bags in the baskets underneath that has spare clothes and food. This bag usually gets muddy from being at the bottom. It was a right faff and looked messy. It felt so good to have everything fit in my new PacaPod bag, with the two pods inside – one for baby change stuff, the other for bottles and food. And then there is a zipped inside pocket, and a front section with more secret compartments for my own bits and bobs.
I also really like how I could hang the bag from these straps that hang off the buggy, it feels more secure and the bag does slide down the buggy like my other bags would have.
I’ll do a proper review once I’ve used the bag more, but for it’s first outing, I was so impressed that I had to share with you!
I am so glad we decided to go for this family walk. We saw lots of other families walking too with the children and their dogs. There was a real happy atmosphere around.
How was your Bank Holiday Monday? Did you get up to anything new?
