Me and Mine | October 2019

October was a good month, it wasn’t too freezing, there was Autumn sunshine along with rainy days. The month started with getting my car serviced and it passing it’s MOT, and hanging out at the Lexicon with Lily while that was being done. Tyler finished off the Circle Line for his tube challenge, ticking off Liverpool Street and Aldgate. I’ve been carrying on with my living room/kitchen makeover, hanging pictures up, putting New York subway wallpaper in the kitchen and making it my PINK dream kitchen. And I bought an oversized clock, one that I had always wanted – it looks AMAZING. We all saw Abominable at the cinema and it was such a lovely film. I took the kids to the Ickenham Model Railway show, and the following day G came along for our first family pumpkin picking afternoon at Garsons PYO Farm. That was fun!

We went to a birthday party that was one of Lily’s friends for the first time – it was at the soft play in Salt Hill and they loved it. Ganesh watched the kids while I was put on party room decorating duty! After that we spent the week in the Cotswolds in Chipping Norton. It was a lovely, chilled out break where we got to wind down and relax. As well as spend Halloween with the locals at a party. The kids enjoyed a Cotswolds bus ride to Witney where we did some adventure golf, and the Oxford Bus Museum the next day. There were lots of coffee/tea room visits and we all enjoyed it.

What we watched on TV in October
Bake Off
Suits season 8
Ackley Bridge
The Apprentice (just me – G is not watching it!)
Giri/Haji – just G is watching that
Cobra Kai (just G)
Bohemian Rhapsody

Books I have read in October
Wartime at Woolworths – Elaine Everest (could not put it down, loved it)
The Picture House By The Sea – Holly Hepburn (predictable, not very believable or relatable)
The Mirror World of Melody Black – Gavin Extence (dark – into the mind of a bipolar person)

October was also the month I started going to parent/child reading sessions at Lily’s nursery – it’s lovely to spend 20 minutes with her while they get a story read to them, and then we choose a book to take home. She has chosen a Peppa Pig book every week.

Now it’s November, it is cold and dark but at least the festive season is coming up. Hope you had a great October.
