AD – One of the main reasons we moved to Slough was because of how close it is to Windsor and how easy it is to get there – a quick 6 minute journey on the train for just a £3 ticket. And as you step out of the train at Windsor & Eton Central Station, you are immediately in the most beautiful and quaint shopping centre. I have visited almost weekly for the past 5 years, and more recently with Lily always pulling me straight to Caffe Nero. So I was absolutely delighted to be contacted by Windsor Royal Station to write a post on what’s new in the shops there for 2020!
What I love about Windsor Royal Station is how pretty it is, from the buildings to the lampposts and the cobbled pavements. The shop windows are always inviting and at Christmas the whole area was decorated, that you just feel happy here. Now that is it January, I was quite interested to see what was new in the shops for the new year.
After a stopoff in Caffe Nero, we went into French Connection which is the white building in the photo above that looks like a princess castle turret. The whole store is circular and I really enjoyed browsing the rails, there were so many dresses I liked. My eye caught this orange shade that is so on trend, French Connection are calling the shade ‘Golden Oak”. I did try on two dresses, one was a floral print and the other navy blue. Both looked and felt gorgeous on!
Upstairs is the Home department and Menswear. Dark blues and an earthy look is the theme of the new home products in store.
A couple of doors down is Joules, which is famous for their stripy Breton tops, but I actually love their childrenswear. So we headed straight to the back of the store.
And what did we find… rainbows! Look at those cutie rainbow slippers, and this pink rainbow sequin jumper. Gorgeous!
Tyler found a top in the Sale section, that he really wanted to try on because it was so fluffy. Look at him posing! We ended up buying this for him.
Over in Le Creuset, we love admiring the brightly coloured crockery. But what’s new for 2020 is the pastel pink and mint green set on the right side of this photo. They would go perfectly with my pink themed kitchen.
I popped into the Jo Malone store, which I am sure you have heard of for their luxury candles. The scent that greets you as you enter the store is amazing. And it’s not just candles in there, there are perfumes and diffusers and creams, so many products. The new scents for 2020 are Velvet Rose & Oud and Vetiver & Golden Vanilla.
Next we visited Sweaty Betty to see what was new for activewear. They have a selection of special leggings that are ‘bum sculpting’ and ‘squat proof’. Zero Gravity leggings, Super Sculpt leggings and Power Gym legging all caught my eye, as well as the super soft hoody pictured here – sooooo soft.
Our last stop was Bare Minerals as I wanted to see what was new for skincare.
The Pureness Collection and the Poreless Collection are the latest products, 100% clean and 100% vegan. Great for getting into a skincare routine for the new year.
The walk back to the station has many photo opportunities, including the replica steam train by All Bar One – I think EVERY visitor from across the world has taken a photo here!
There is the Harry & Meghan lego mosaic portrait that was created when they got married. It is an amazing piece of art, made from actual teeny tiny lego pieces.
And the red ‘Lock in Love’ heart, where people can leave messages of love on a padlock.
There are lots more shops and restaurants in Windsor Royal Station, but hopefully this post has given you a little taste of what’s instore there. It really is a lovely experience to shop there.
Have you been shopping at Windsor Royal Station before? Are there any new products that have caught your eye whilst you have been out and about?

Ooooh, thanks for this! I live in Slough too, but was planning to look into Bare Minerals for make-up – didn’t know there was a branch in Windsor… I’ll be visiting them.

I’m quite fond of a carluccios breakfast and went quite a lot pre-kids before a bit of shopping in Windsor.
