2020 Through The Seasons In Slough

2020 was a year that changed everything, so much that I can’t even put it into words. I know for many people it was very difficult year. One thing we all learnt to appreciate more is the simple things – something that I always did. To go outside, look up and admire nature. And that’s one thing we all did a lot more of – going outside.

From my Instagram page @sloughitsnotsobad I have chosen one photo from each month of 2020, and you can see how the seasons change from January through to December. It’s beautiful, isn’t it! And these photos were taken in our good old Berkshire town of Slough – see, it’s not so bad 😉 If you enjoy seeing photos like this, do follow me on that account.

We have all these flowers to look forward to in 2021. Have a read of this blog post to find out where and when you need to go to get the best photos.

I also chose a photo from each month from my personal photos to remember 2020. How it started normal, before lockdown hit with homeschool, outdoor walks and many movies watched – thank goodness for Disney+ (and my brother’s subscription). Actual outings when things relaxed, and then lockdown again at the end of the year plus a very different Christmas for everyone.

It brought our individual families closer together I think, with siblings becoming best friends. Tyler turned 8, Lily turned 4. She started Reception in September and joined Tyler at school. Tyler got on BBC Radio Berkshire talking about trains – you can listen to the clip here. A hot summer spent in my parents’ garden. My nephew was born and my sister got engaged. Lots of positives to 2020 amongst the doom and gloom.

I will end this post with my 10 most popular posts of 2020, as I really love blogging and it’s great to look back on. I hit nearly 40k views in 2020 with visitors from across the world. I think that is something to be proud of and I do thank each and every one of you who reads my little blog.

We are in a strange time now where we don’t feel safe to go out, being in a Tier 4 area. But I do love blogging about days out. So I will be looking back at past photos of visits so I can bring you ideas to make future plans. Because this year I am sure things will get better.

Thank you for following my blog and I look forward to bringing you more post that I hope you’ll find useful.

Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
