Festive Activities to save for Christmas 2024

Save this for later this year when you’ll be planning Christmas 2024. We did a whole load of festive activities from days out to meeting Santa to lights trails. These were our faves from 2023, and which we recommend you keep an eye out for the next festive seasons.

Christmas Spectacular at Odds Farm

You might think, why would you go to a farm at Christmas time?! Well, actually all the fun was indoors and they made this magical North Pole wonderlands with elves and Santa.

Together with the soft play, the show, the reindeer food making, as well as the magical tree outside with ‘snow’, we had such a fun time! Keep an eye out if they do this for Christmas 2024 as well.

Windsor Illuminated

2023 was our first year doing this illuminated trail at Windsor Great Park and it truly was magical. It was a 2.2km walk which took us about 1 hour and a half. Pretty photo spots, a disco area, hot chocolate stalls, firepits to toast marshmallows. And there are loos in the middle of the trail. A fun fair at the end. Yes, this was a good one. Keep an eye out for this trail in 2024, and book early as slots get sold out quick. PS Wellies are a good idea too.

Legoland at Christmas

Our first time visiting here at Christmas time, it was such a calmer vibe than the summer months. We used our annual passes, so if you have them, it’s definitely worth a visit. Parking is free at Christmas time too. PS You don’t have to book the Santa experience to visit here, we did all the festive activities in the park without that bit, and we followed the Santa parade through the park (that was awesome!!)

Royal Opera House

In 2023 the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden showed a children’s opera show based on Red Riding Hood and other famous fairy tales. It was amazing to get dressed up and watch a show at this beautiful venue. I wonder what they will show here when its Christmas 2024!

River and Rowing Museum

We visited the River and Rowing Museum during the festive activities week. It was fab, we did a festive t-shirt printing workshop and there was a grotto to meet Santa and Mr Toad from Wind in the Willows. It was so lovely!

Even when it’s not Christmas, you need to visit this museum to go in the Wind in the Willows experience. It’s so enchanting!!

Harvester – Windsor Lad

For a festive meal that doesn’t break the bank, we can recommend Harvester Windsor Lad. It was just refurbished when we visited and it’s so trendy and stylish now. We spent 3 hours here, that’s how much we liked it. And were royally stuffed!

Shopping Centre Events

We were very impressed with what the local shopping centres put on for Christmas, and highly recommend following their social media pages for upcoming events.

The Lexicon in Bracknell, Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe and Broad Street Mall in Reading put on fab Christmas activities. Windsor Royal Shopping had beautiful illuminated photo spots too.

Panto

Panto at The Beck Theatre in Hayes was brilliant. Beauty and the Beast had us laughing all the way though, and it was awesome seeing Anthony from Blue being the funny bad guy. The Beck Theatre is one to keep in mind for Christmas 2024.

Festive House

Shout out the the festive house on Turner Road in Langley who put on the best Christmas lights in Berkshire!!

What was your favourite festive activity you went to this Christmas?
