Another rainy Monday morning, I was like, ugh, Tyler what shall we do? It’s not like we can jump on a train adventure somewhere like in those good old summer days. He goes ‘Colouring!’
So I cleared his little table, got out the craft box and as usual, he hands me a felt tip pen and asks me to draw a train that he can colour in.
But today I had a lightbulb moment! We have pva glue and a bag of buttons – why don’t we make train wheels out of buttons?! I put blobs of glue on and Tyler picked out buttons and stuck them on. Seriously, he found this the most amazing activity ever and it kept him happy all morning.
This is just at the beginning, in the end I think we made about 10 trains!
If you’re bored on a rainy day, just do this, kids love it.
All you need is:
– paper
– felt tip pens
– bag of craft buttons (we got this bag from The Works for £2)
– PVA white glue bottle
What do you do on a rainy day? I’d love to hear any ideas 🙂
