Corners Of My Home | Living Room

I’ve decided to share with you little corners of my home, as a bit of motivation for me to keep decluttering and make it look nice! I took 6 bags to the charity shop over the past few days, and boy did that feel good. Hopefully they will make some good money for Scope too. The other plus is that my living room is looking a bit less cluttered now. There’s still work to do, like finding some stylish storage baskets for Tyler’s cars and trains as the current boxes are too small and quite battered. Here’s how it’s looking now:

It’s so nice to be able to see the floor! The newest addition to this side is the blog corner, which I wrote about last week. And just before Christmas, I hung up polaroid photos along the wall with little pink and blue pegs that I found reduced in Wilkos for 50p.

I love having these memories with the captions floating along the wall, I got them printed from Cheerz last year.  The bright paper lanterns really jazz up the wall. They were party decorations from Tyler’s 3rd birthday (from Tesco!) that I never took down as they are so cheerful! And the top string with pom poms is a Christmas decoration that I got from Poundland years ago. I kept that up too, as it hardly looks Christmas-y at all.

I love having this large print by our table, so we can see happy memories as we eat. I bought the simple black frame from Ikea, it was really cheap, like £4 or something. It’s very lightweight and thin, so it’s doesn’t feel like it will fall off the wall. The clock on the other wall is also a photo one. It was a wedding gift from my cousin and has photos from our wedding in it.

As you can tell, I like colour 🙂 So Lily’s bright Cosatto highchair, which was actually Tyler’s, goes well with this side of the room. I was going for a Pop Art look when I first started buying furniture for our home. The Eames-style chairs are from My Furniture and the white table was from Debenhams. I’ve had pastel seaside-style placemats on there since Day 1 – they were from Asda, pretty battered now but I love them too much to replace them!

So that’s how the front of our living room is looking right now. It feels all homely now that the photos are up and with my blogging corner, finally after moving in here 2 and a half years ago! The good thing is there is still lots of space to add photos of Lily up eventually.

I always like having a look at other people’s homes, I’m nosey like that ;-D  So I hope you liked having a peek at this corner of my home.

Have you got a favourite corner of your home?

  1. I love your style, so bright and cheerful! Your dining chairs are beautiful, I’ve only seen them in white before. Love your flamingos too, they are my favourite animal, my house used to be full of flamingo things before we moved, they add a lot of colour!

    • Thank you! My table was from Debenhams and the chair were from my-furniture.com. Ooh a colourful wedding, that sounds great. We went for a fushsia pink and bright blue colour scheme for our wedding – flowers, feathers, tealight candles, party favour boxes, bridemaids outfits, ties, hairclips, cravats, the wedding cake, my shoes – all in the co-ordinating colours! xx
