AD – PR | There’s no better way to start the Christmas season than to go for a festive meal. And with there only being a week to go before it’s December, now’s a good time to start. We were kindly invited by The Red Lion in Stoke Poges to try our their Festive Menu. I have written about The Red Lion previously here, and it is such a lovely family-friendly pub, warm and cosy, with friendly staff, and now looking even prettier with their Christmas tree and sparkly lights around the seating area.
For our starters, I chose the Creamy Garlic Mushroom which came on toasted sourdough bread and Ganesh chose the deep fried Brie which came with a spiced fruit chutney. Oh my goodness, I loved the mushroom starter, soooo tasty, and G said the brie was really good.
For our mains I chose the Salmon Fillet which came with a creamy sauce and mussels. It felt like such a luxury meal, it was just divine! There was also baby potatoes, samphire, spinach and roasted peppers. As for my husband, he went for the vegetarian option which was the Slow-roasted Tomato and Almond Bake. Together with the beetroot, carrot, spinach and roasted celeriac. It was sweet and a delicious combination.
The kids chose pizza, fish goujons and chips.
For dessert we had the Blackcurrant Mousse and the Caramel Creme Brulee, and the kids had chocolate brownies with ice cream. A nice way to end the evening with some sweet treats.
And here’s our first Christmas-sy photo of 2019.
We had a great evening at the Red Lion, with friendly staff, and tasty food that is beautifully presented. I love that we have somewhere like this to eat out at in Slough. If you haven’t been here, it’s definitely worth a visit.
