Who said Windsor is just for tourists?! The Chocolate Making Workshops at Dr. Choc’s are such a cool activity for locals and visitors. And it’s so much fun and educational too.
There are quite a few different workshops available at Dr. Chocs in Windsor. We did the Summer Workshop in July, but now you can do the Mini Chocolatier or Halloween experience which is the winter version.
In our workshop, the kids got to:
🍫 Make a chocolate bar and decorate with toppings (30 toppings to choose from! 😄)
🍫Make a thin bark of chocolate and load it with toppings
🍫 Dip dried fruits in chocolate – we had candied orange, dried mango, ginger and date
🍫 Decorate 2 scoops of ice-cream and then eat in the garden! There were so many amazing ice cream flavours to choose from, but my two went for vanilla 😂
Our chocolatier was great with the children and very knowledgeable, explaining all the processes clearly, and keeping them excited. They loved her!
We spent about an hour here, doing the workshop and chilling out in the garden. There’s also a lovely coffee shop upstairs, with homemade cakes and bright, colourful teacups.
Downstairs they sell all the chocolate and ice cream made here. Oh, and did I tell you about the chocolate scent that hits you as you walk in?! It’s amazing!
The chocolate takes about half-an-hour to set – you can wait in the coffee shop/garden, or you can do something else in Windsor and come back to pick up your chocolates. There is loads you can do in Windsor. We did an Escape Windsor activity (which I’ll share in my next blog post) and then came back. But you could go shopping, go to Batchelors Acre playground, walk along the river, play mini golf at Alexandra Gardens. So much!
