New Tube Station – Battersea Power Station | London Underground Northern Line Extension

Did you know two brand new London Underground stations have opened on the Northern Line? Yesterday we went to check out the new Battersea Power Station station and see how the area looks.

Well let me tell you, the huge area around the iconic Battersea Power Station is looking so shiny and new. There are restaurants/bars, a coffee shop, posh grocery shop (with wooden wicker baskets!), water features, deckchairs, landscaping, flowers. And all by the River Thames where you can see trains, buses and buses go by.

It was sunny yesterday so we bought pasta and sandwiches from the posh grocery shop and ate it outside. The kids had a play with the water features too.

The building works are not complete yet, and it looks like there will be like a million luxury apartments. It feels amazing to sit by the Grade II Listed power station – you can’t help but look up and gaze at the famous chimneys. And the bricks look so clean – for a building that’s nearly 100 years old, I’m like how?!

It’s totally worth a visit here, and to make it more of a day out, Battersea Park Children’s Zoo is a 10/15 min walk from here.

If you come on 29/30 October there’s a Battersea Lights Trail from 6.30pm-10pm, to celebrate the new tube stations opening, plus there will be daytime activities
