EDIT: Sadly Harris + Hoole Slough closed on Sunday 9th October 2016. It was such a good coffee shop, we LOVED going there. It was our go-to place after Tyler’s Little Kickers class on Saturdays, and then the first place out I went to with Honey Nut at just 5 days old. We loved our choc muffins and chai lattes sitting in the sofa corner. Thank you Harris + Hoole for the happy memories. We will miss you!!!

Sometimes when the sun isn’t out, you just need a nice, warm drink. Last Sunday was one of those days, so we checked out our local Harris + Hoole Coffee Shop which is inside Tesco Extra, a large space right at the entrance. I love the decor of the place, the chalkboards, and the giant neon arrow pointing to the coffee shop – you can’t miss it!

We went and and were greeted by the lovely team of Patrick, Tania and Tom. There’s a real friendly atmosphere to the place, you do forget you are inside Tesco.

There was a delicious selection of food for the grown-ups at the counter, and for kiddies they had cheese sandwiches in the chiller for £1.50, which was great as it was nearing Tyler’s lunchtime.

For drinks, there’s a choice of speciality coffees, teas, hot chocolate or iced drinks. My husband and I went for lattes, mine with a shot of hazelnut syrup. I do like seeing them made, the whole process and that coffee machine is fascinating, together with how the pattern is made on the top. The barista swirls the milk in with a jug to create it – I was amazed, that is real talent!

There’s plenty of seating around the counter, and another section with more armchairs to the right. This ‘Community Calendar’ chalkboard was a nice touch, giving local information – you can see on here crafting events at the library etc. They are also crowdfunding for community projects, which you can read more about here.

We sat towards the entrance of the store, as my boy likes to people-watch and this was the best spot. I really enjoyed my latte and Tyler enjoyed his cheese sandwich 🙂

And here’s my other half – a true blogger’s husband, fed up after taking loads of photos of us!

We headed off to the cinema afterwards to see the Minion movie. This was really a great stop-off beforehand. If you’re ever in the area, I totally recommend a visit to Harris + Hoole. There’s plenty of highchairs and it’s right by the baby change, which is handy if you’ve got little ones.
