Last week we had our family holiday at the seaside in Kent, and had an amazing time. We were extremely lucky with the weather, blue skies and sunshine. Perfect weather for the kids to wear their summer outfits, which I thought I would share with you for this week’s fashion post.
First up is a gorgeous seaside print M&S Autograph dress that my dad bought for Lily ages ago. I was saving it for a beautiful day at the beach, which as you can see makes a perfect background. The dress has the sweetest print of seaside houses and I love the colours of pastel blue and white. There’s a frilly skirt lining underneath that makes the dress puff out more. It’s so cute! Lily was very comfortable wearing it too.
This is the first Autograph dress we’ve owned – I wouldn’t buy it normally as they are quite pricey, but I can see why they cost more. I would put it on the same level as Ted Baker at Debenhams, it just has that extra attention to detail, like the gold buttons at the back and the piping along the waist, and the fabric is very sturdy that I can see it lasting a long time.
Tyler is wearing his favourite tee – his hot air balloon Little Bird one from Mothercare, along with F+F shorts from last year. I love the bright colours.
We brought one hoodie with us on holiday, and it was this bright blue one that I ordered online from Next a couple of weeks ago. They have loads of other colours too from red to green to orange to yellow, and it was only £10, I might get some more! Tyler’s jeans are also from Next and his canvases are cheapo ones from Tesco.
Lily is also sporting a hoodie. This one was only £3.50 from Primark, though I think it might only be in larger stores. We got it from Uxbridge, yet I’ve never seen it in the Slough branch. It is so cuddly and soft, Lily is always bringing it to me when we are at home for me to put it on her! The jeggings are also from Primark (£2.50) and the trainers are Tyler’s first ones from TK Maxx – they do such cute toddler shoes!
Next we have this beautiful John Lewis white cotton dress that my brother bought for Lily. The birds and leaf prints are actually embroidered on, it is really beautiful. The fabric is light and the fit is loose, it’s actually been perfect for this summer. I’d never thought to shop at John Lewis for kids clothes before, but I am so impressed with the quality. The dress has really washed well and the fabric is very sturdy, again I think it will last long.
Here are so fun, bright outfits from Tyler – red sunglasses from Primark (£1), and both the tee and shorts are from Next (last year’s range).
The below tee is from Mothercare (from my parents) and the shorts are F+F from last year’s range.
And Lily is wearing her poppies dress which I already wrote about here – this dress has washed well and once ironed it looked as good as new. So I can totally recommend Next cotton dresses. This dress seriously looks gorgeous on and she got gasps from passers-by on the beach as to how cute she looked. Lily loved the attention!
So those are our summer seaside outfits – hopefully we’ll have some more sunny weekends in September before getting out our jumpers. What’s your favourite summer outfit that you don’t want to put away?
